The easiest and most common way to make your blog theme unique even though the theme is being used by hundreds or even thousands of others is to make a unique blog header for yourself. A different and well designed blog header makes your Theme stands out from the crowd and creating one does not mean you have to spend hundreds of dollars or learn complex Photoshop skills.
advertisementAnyone with the basic skill will be able to create a reasonably good looking blog header. The idea is to keep things simple. If you study blog logos done by professionals you will notice that most are very simple designs. They stand out because of their simplicity. The reason these professional can charge so highly for their designs is their creative use of colors and fonts.
For blog theme headers, I have always preferred bold fonts and one of my favorite hunting grounds for beautiful fonts is Font Squirrel. Below are 10 of my favorite blog fonts for creating blog headers. All fonts displayed can be downloaded at Font Squirrel for free.

Hi Walter,
I wouldn’t say your logo is plain. I have seen worse. maybe just not outstanding.
I think using the Acknowledgment font with 2 colors will look nice. Try it.
When i see people keep changing their logos or headers, it tells me that they have too much free time in hand or they are think that with bolder or dazzling headers can capture or generate more readers.
I don’t think people bother much with the so-called “creative” hearder or logo of a site. I would say it is more of a self-indulgence. The essential thing is the content and easy navigation.
If it is a printed media like magazines or books, then the header got to be unique and outstanding.
Exactly, A-Lister Sucker, you said it perfectly, self indulgence.
Sometimes we do have to indulge.
But seriously, no one should be changing logos like me. Logos are suppose to be our brand and changing brands ever too often is no good for business.
