Contrary to many who thinks so, placing affiliate links to too many football or sports betting portals that offers football bets will not make you much. Those who comes for predictions will already mostly be hard core betters and would have already established accounts somewhere. I am just starting to write about that. I got my motherboard today. Had few blown capacitors that made my machine unstable so I had to sit on an old Celeron 900 for a few days.

Unfortunately Adsense would not allow you to place ads on a site involving gambling related material. This is why it’s been a nightmare to monetize the blog.
I think you should read the finer points in Google TOS. Gambling related materials or gambling sites would mean site that actually offer gambling services. Yours, to me is just a blog discussing and predicting football matches. You are not accepting bets or whatever and you have legitimate contents so yours is definitely not a gambling site.
If you are really worried, you can actually write to Google and have them look at your site before inserting any Ads.
BTW, I am already getting hits to this post with queries related to this post topic so the backlink should do some good for your Serps ranking. I have also inserted it in the first paragraph so it will be there for at least 10 days as a PR4 link.

Well I do have an adsense account on a different blog/s. This one never got accepted. I have tried submitting it few times, every time got rejected for the reason Gambling Related material.

Funniest thing just happened today, since Chitika made that upgrade, they rejected my domain for “gambling related material”.
I however just kept submitting it, till someone from their staff accepted it today …
So many got fired by Chitika for the past month. Yours truly included and I did not even receive any notice from them, but to me , it’s good riddance.
I have Adsense in place and it’s making 10 times more. Used to make 10 cents a day from Chitika, now it’s a dollar a day! LOL…
Chitika simply does not have much related advertisers to my kind of traffic, I guess.
Yeah, I actually bugged them for over 3 weeks, and requested to talk to a manager, till I finally reached someone on higher instance to explain why I was removed.
Now all of the sudden I am accepted again…? Sounds like they “need” us again after all.
I seriously don’t get companies attitude about “kicking u out” without even giving u a reason. That’s like having a store and tell the customers get out for no reason.
That’s just bad business to me.
