4 Tips For Niche Blogging

in Blogging Tips.

I first decided to try my hands at niche blogging after reading Vic’s Money Making Blog and how he revealed to his readers that the way to blogging dollars is through this arena. Of course before that, I have read thousands of blog telling me that we must have a good niche to succeed, but he problem was, they stopped right there and I have a feeling that they themselves have no idea about what truly is niche blogging from the making money point of view.

After understanding what niche blogging is really about, and trying my hands at a couple, I reached the conclusion that niche blogging actually goes against the norms of all the advise that I have taken so far. There are only a few basic things to master for the niche to succeed and surprise, surprise, writing fantastic contents isn’t one of them! In fact, almost almost nothing I have learned applies when it comes to niche blogging in it’s pure form.

Niche blogging is all about search traffic. We don’t need no plenty of comments. We don’t need beautiful templates or themes, we don’t need feed subscribers and we don’t need loyal fans. This scenario fits me pretty well. LOL.

To be able to get those Search Traffic we need to have some knowledge in only 3 areas as I have came to realized and if you have the dough, you don’t even need to know in-depth, for there are soft wares available to do them for you automatically.

1. Keyword Research.

Finding the right niche with keywords that have low competition, but high search rate is the first thing. It may sounds simple, but it is not and it can take days or weeks of research before you stumble on one, but like I said, if you have the dough, software available will minimize the work. It don’t even have to be a topic you know or are passionate about.

2. Post Articles With Your Keywords.

Mind you, you can actually write craps as long as you know how to place your keywords and anchor text properly. If you are lazy, you don’t even have to come up with original stuffs. There are millions of articles out there which you can grab and do a re-write so it won’t be seen as duplicates. Again, if you have the dough, article writing soft wares on almost every topic under the sun is freely available for as low as 47USD.

3. Getting Backlinks To Your Articles.

A backlink to your keywords makes you an authority on that subject and with this authority, you will rank well in Serps. So knowing how and where to get those backlinks is the third thing you need to learn and of course for an important factor like that, softwares are again available for you to submit to link and article directories. Read social networking and bookmarking.

4. Time

Then you wait it out, updating profusely with all your intended keywords and getting as many links as possible. 90 days is what it took my first niche blog to pass the 100 uniques per day, 100% from Search Engines. Inserted Adsense and a couple of affiliate programs and saw my first 10 bucks in 5 days. Not too bad for a start.

Then again, for a blog like this one, we still have to stick to a most of the old rules. Good contents, lots of comments, (which this blog is sorely missing) and all the boring blah, blah, blah. Worse, you won’t make any money from blogs like this. Think I will just go the niche way.

These are some useful tips – what you have said here pretty much agrees with what I have read elsewhere regarding niche blogging. After spending the bulk of my time managing my main site at Karlonia.com and being frustrated with the slow progress, I am now beginning to dip my toe into this area as well.

I have recently managed to take over a couple of abandoned blogspot blogs, and after getting my daily post for Karlonia out of the way, spent some time doing keyword research for them and posted one original “anchor article” so that the content could begin to be indexed. Having never worked with the Blogger platform before (my main site uses WordPress), I found it surprisingly easy and also had the opportunity to install AdSense blocks for the first time.

I’m not really sure about the actual income potential of these little sites, but since there are no hosting expenses involved with maintaining them, I figured that it couldn’t hurt to post some content, aim a few backlinks at them, and see what happens. According to what I have read at other blogs and forums, if I let them “marinate” for a few months and gain some positive PageRank from Google, they can be used for private sales of text links in addition to whatever AdSense income they may generate. Theoretically, if this process can be repeated enough times with additional sites, this will add up to substantial revenue over the long term.

Hi Madison,

You are right and it is not in theory only. All those money making gurus are doing it though not many will reveal it, they have more than 100s of these niche sites. Imagine just making 50 backs per blog. The sum is really quite substancial.

I’ll be happy if I can maintain 20 such blogs. LOL.
