Sometimes we have to very specific. There are blogs and then there are blogs. This blog for example do not carry much ads for I am sticking to the old school of thoughts for this blog. Frank too has a blog that I know of that gives good information and has fantastic contents.

Having said that, There is a fine line between making money unethically or with a clear consience and that will lie with the individual blogger and their upbringing, I guess.

For those looking for information, I would feel the Ads, if relevant, will be a better choice rather than hitting the back button and start their search all over again.

I did that from 1999 through 2006. I gave away a lot of free and helpful information on ad-free websites. I got laid off from my job doing computer programming in 2006 and had trouble finding a new job due to my age. So I said, “Screw that” and I put ads on my sites. The info is still there, just with ads. I also started building sites specifically to attract search engine traffic not too long after that. I’d rather make money from guiding people toward an product or service they really want to buy than trying to sell loyal readers on some worthless eBook or training course by conning them into trusting me.

Thanks for the mention and the nice write up on the theme. Of course, many will just hit the back button but if you get 10-20% clicking the ads in the right niches you’ll make some money.
