Blogigs.com was launched on April 2007. Initially intended to be a meta blog or a blog about blogging, the blog evolved into something more purposeful after a year. The main reason for the change was due to the author’s increasing interest in WordPress Themes and his belief that a proper and well coded Theme could benefit and increase the traffic to a blog.
BloGigs has undergone many Theme changes over the years, experimenting with different layouts, colors, fonts and backgrounds in the effort to find the “perfect” WordPress Blog Theme. The results of all these changes did not bring any satisfying or significant improvements in terms of traffic, whether social or organic.
Premium WordPress Themes Helped My Traffic
In the early 2009, BloGigs.com, after much disappointments with the results of using Free Themes, decided to invest in a Premium Theme. The first Theme that was paid for was the Thesis Theme.
The Thesis Theme did not disappoint and it confirmed the belief that if your Theme is good, you will definitely see an increase in organic traffic. After using the Thesis for a month, search traffic to Blogigs.com improved by nearly a hundred percent.

After nearly a year after, another Premium Theme made an emergence and that was the Frugal Theme. Blogigs.com was fortunate to win a free copy of the Frugal in a contest by the Theme developers. Seeing the opportunity to try out the Theme, Blogigs.com made to switch from the Thesis to the Frugal Theme which was later replaced by the Catalyst Theme which is the theme BloGigs.com uses at present.
Making Money As A Premium Theme Affiliate
The change to the Catalyst Theme brought about another hike in organic traffic, again further cementing the belief that every one should use a premium theme. It is an investment that cannot be forgone if you intend to make money from your blog. With the increase in traffic, especially search traffic, BloGigs.com makes a five figure annual income from affiliate commissions promoting various Premium Themes.
With a good and well coded Theme, traffic can only keep increasing as you add more contents. As traffic increase, income too will go up in tandem.
