Adding Some Stylish Functions To The K9 Theme

2008 May 31

Whenever I lay hands on a new theme that I like, I cannot control my urges to do add some modifications on it. Before I decided to use this theme, I was actually modding another theme by Richie of Dezzain Studio. Richie’s themes has always been my favorite because the themes comes with lots of functions that you will only find in most professionally done themes. For example these few cool styling functions can be found in Richie’s latest 2 themes.

The fact that you are seeing these cool functions here is because I copied the codes and the images to this theme. Another very unique function that not many free themes offer is the ability to add caption to a picture. For example the image you see on the left has a caption below describing the image. You can also use this to credit the source of the image and this image can be placed on the right or the left of your post.

By using this pullquote function, I can make my point clearer to my readers.

Another feature is the “Pullquote” function. I see some bloggers using this feature quite often to highlight a point and I think the effect is much more stronger than just the normal blockquote function that we normally use. It is perfect for content rich blogs and for bloggers who like to write long articles and bringing their points home.

These 3 functions have been incorporated to this K9 theme that I am using now. I have compiled the codes, the images needed and instructions on how to use the functions into one folder Which you can download. Though I have not tried it on any other themes, I think it should work with any themes. The only file that you will be messing with is the style-sheet, so backup that file before attempting anything.
