Like everyone already does not know. There are 2 types of traffic that a blog survives on. Search traffic and social traffic. Internet marketers will want lots of search traffic while bloggers, in their true form and not out to make money, will crave for social traffic. Social traffic, I am no good at getting as I seldom socialize. Search traffic, I can do a little all by myself without having to mix around and that suits me. However, search traffic does have it’s advantages and disadvantages.
The Advantages Of Search Traffic.
Search traffic is free. If you can write good SEO friendly articles, somehow they will be found even if it does not go viral or get any links from anywhere. If you have many of these articles and each article brings in 2 visitors from search engines, the numbers adds up.
Search traffic spends People who are searching are people looking for specific information. Most have already a rough idea about what they want and what they are looking for. So if you have product that suits their needs, the chances of them buying the product is high.
Search Traffic Clicks On Ads If your post is something that they are looking for, and the Ads are relevant, they will click of more.
Search Traffic Brings Down Your Alexa Rankings Not many takes notice of this, but if you have lots of search traffic, you Alexa rankings comes down by the hundreds every day. That’s why Alexa Rankings never reflects your true traffic volume, but still everyone, especially Advertisers, looks at it and takes the Alexa rankings as a basis.
The Disadvantages Of Search Traffic
Search Traffic Never Comments They just come for the information they want, get it and leave.
Search Traffic Seldom Subscribes Same as above
Search Traffic Gives You a High Bounce Rate Similarly, they never read any other post other than the one they came searching for.
So which is more important to you?
A visitor who comes, stays half an hour to read all your post, leaves you nice comments, subscribe to your blog, follow you in twitter, and then go away without clicking your ads or buying anything,
OR
Would you prefer someone who drops in for 5 minutes, skimp through your post, clicks on the Ads for the info or the products that they are looking for and leave without even a thank you note.

I am one of those who read what is informative and valuable to me. I hardly buy anything online, except bidding in online auction for stuff I like. At times, I do say thank you for help rendered or for prompt reply.
You sound normal to me..
A little of bit of both world perhaps. But you know my opinion from way before. For me social traffic, subscribers are way overrated, and I prefer search traffic.
Bounce rate indeed goes up, but search traffic shows me more about the progress of my site. I used to get 20-30 searches a day, 40 on a peak day. Now around 100 a day, 200 on a peak day, this shows progress.
Also another great thing about search traffic Costa, they wont mind your frequent visual updates
. In fact they would never know there were any.
You get the freedom to experiment, without feeling guilt that regular readers might be against it.
And then again it’s good to have those cool subscriber numbers and twitter numbers, makes people believe you are more trustful if more ppl follow you.
Yes, search traffic suits me fine and I make good sales and sign ups.
However, since I started selling Ads here, I wish I have more bloated figures to show would be Advertisers. LOL.
Refer to one of ur old articles, where u said u have to be good with Photoshop
Ha Ha! that would be like trying to wrap fire with paper.
People fall for anything now days. In fact some images on weight reduction supplements are done in the same day, and only doctored with an editing program.
The editors say it’s quite silly and very detectable, but most ppl fall for it, and that’s what surprises them.
