Pros who are into SEO advises against this practise as they say doing this brings in a lot of irrelevant links that have nothing to do with our blogs. No doubt it is a fast and efficient way to harvest for links if our blogs is new is seriously links deprived, there is always always a fearful feeling that we might get bitch slapped by Google as with what has happened to a certain “Internet Mogul” recently.

Everyone is fearful of getting banned by Search Engines, especially the big brother of all, Google. Some, like this blog follows the crowd in expressing this fear, even though this blog gets an overall of 5 hits per day from Search Engines. It is kind of silly, stupid even, to have this fear given our Search Stats. Maybe it’s the case of “do what the Jones do” again. Everyone says we should be afraid, so we must be afraid, or else we are not true bloggers. True bloggers must be afraid of being banned. We have been thoroughly brain washed in this aspect because every SEO and Blog Experts says so.

We should look at our blogs first. Do we depend on Search Engines for traffic? Check your stats and see for yourself, how many of your blogs visitors comes from Google? If it is like mine, five, then what is there to be afraid of? Loosing that 5 casual visitors daily? I would worry more if StumbleUpon bans me. I mean how many casual bloggers like us seriously thinks of post titles that attracts Search Engines. We just post away without a care in the world how we title our post or what keywords to use when writing. In fact we never writes with Search Engines in mind.

Having said that, it would really be dreadful if we get a few hundred or maybe a few thousand Search hits daily and we got banned, but in reality how many of us enjoys that? My most successful blog only manages about 30 Search hits for a normal day. On days when I manage to hit a jackpot with a kicksass keyword, it might bring me about a hundred or two extra daily, but that only happens once or twice a year. The rest of my visitors are mostly loyal ones who drops by daily or every alternate days, and visitors coming through ping portals. So even if I got banned, the blog will still be running healthily, I guess.

In view of that, I have finally decided that I won’t be loosing much if I do the latest list which originated from JohnCow. I was included in the list by my very good buddy, 5xmom, but have been delaying doing my share for fear of what I mentioned above. So to return the favor of all those who has passed on the list with this blog included, I have here the latest list which I copied from B Money Savvy. It has grown since the last time I checked, but like all this kind of list, everyone just copy and paste as it goes along. No one actually go and read the blogs in the list, let alone subscribe to it. I am also guilty as charged.

The idea is simple: You want readers and you want link backs too because that’s all us bloggers want, it’s more precious than milk for some. So how does it work? Simple! You just copy the list down below on your blog, hence creating link backs for your blogging friends and then click the RSS feed link to subscribe to all of them. Then you add yourself and up to 5 other bloggers and their feeds to the end of the list before you publish it on your own blog. Show your friends some link loveJust imagine if just 10 people would do this and then 10 more after them. That would get your blog 100 extra link backs and 100 extra feed subscribers!

#End copy here#

From notion of what I wrote, I have decided not to include anyone new as lots of bloggers are having second thoughts about viral lists like this. However, whoever feels that they want in, they can always copy this list, add their own blogs in and pass it along. As in lists like this, the originator and the few ones that was included in the beginning will benefit the most and the last few that is included before this fizzles out will be left with he crumbs because no one will be so good to re-publish the final list to benefit those late comers. Again, I am also guilty of this charge.
