I have a feeling I am the odd one out here, when it comes to understanding the term blogging niche. Of course I have read a thousand times that if you have a good niche, you make money, but I never did go and learn or really researched about niche blogging. What I understood or thought I understood was simply just find a niche and start blogging around it and then tons of traffic will come pouring in and with that, tons of dollars will follow suit. What an ignorant and foolish old fool I have been.

It took me more than 2 years to realize that it takes more than simply finding a blogging niche, start writing and we will make money. Even if we have found a perfect niche that we are so very passionate about and can write endless articles about, it still will not take off unless some work, no, lots of extra work are being put into it, other than updating it daily. Without that extra work, the blog will be like a cake without the icing.

It also took me more than 2 years to realize that what I thought was a good niche was not a good niche at all. We actually have to do some lengthy research to come up with what the real gurus will call “A Good Niche” and even after finding that, we have to learn how to manipulate that niche to bring and make the most out of it. Else, it will be a good niche gone to waste, but if done correctly, one good blog niche will be enough to pay for the mortgage.

One final revelation. You will hear lots of gurus giving you free tips on how to go about succeeding in niche blogging. It is not as “free” as some gurus will tell you. Maybe if you have the knowledge it will or can be free as you will be able to do most of the things all by yourself, but since I am just a noob, and I think lots are also in the same boat as me, we will have to invest in that knowledge that others have. Trust me, the information that you get for money are different from the information that you get for free. All the tips that you got for free is just the tip of the iceberg. It is a very realistic world. nothing is really free.
