  1. Agreed. There are some people efficient of doing both, creating good content, making visitors and turning them as users or usual readers. But, someone who is devoid of any of the above behaves as Blogger, or an Internet Marketer.

  2. Kher

Personally I see bloggers and Internet Marketers are two different breed. Another thing is I don’t believe in having more than 10 blogs at one time. It is time wasting and energy draining. I prefer to focus on just a few sites which I can monitor them well. I have more time making amendments, regular updating, etc. I prefer quality to quantity.

    • How about a quantity of quality blogs? LOL.

Buthen, 10 high quality blogs that can bring an income if say $300 monthly is more than enough for you and me.

  3. This is something I constantly struggle with myself…sometimes I am a blogger, sometimes I am an IM’r. I’m going to make my #1 blogging goal for the next year to find the perfect balance between the two.

  4. I love your style of writing and I enjoyed reading this article and the twitter one and the outdated blog tips one. And do you know why? Cause they are so true! I am a sports/fitness freak, have been playing in amateurs teams (soccer) and have started around 3 months ago building a quality blog with free articles, tips, predictions etc for the fans out there. And you are so right about the outdated tips! And twitter …. I don’t even wanna talk about it, I never liked it but I started using it because it drove traffic. But you are right most of the followers write to you something like “Thanks for the follow! You are interested in http://…... and the link of their i-net business or scheme.

  5. Hi Mitco,

Frankly for me, traffic from twitter is minimum. It would take re-tweets by some power tweeterers like shoemoney to have any affect and even then, it will only last a few hours so overall, it does not help much.

  6. You are right, but for a brand new site, don’t you think when it gets your traffic rank up, will help out your blog get further up in google? At least when I think about it seems like it.

  7. Shoot =) I always thought traffic rank is part of the PR calculations. But you do know no one wants to link especially to new sites =). It’s like you have to have 1 already successful site to link your new ones there to get the boost.

    • Mitco,

A high PR as per the green toolbar also does nothing in terms of traffic.

The rank you hear so often is the ranking in the Search Results page that people goes crazy over. In this case, it is the lower the better.

It is the ability of the blogger to get their blogs appearing in the first position in the Search results whenever someone searches for information about the topic he is blogging about.

Yes it does help if you have an established site so you can harvest a link to your new site. That’s why people build for themselves something called a link farm where they can get links for themselves.

However that is not a method propagated by “straight” bloggers. The legit way of getting the required links for yourself is to submit articles to article directories which allows you to embed a link or two in your articles.

Then there are also legitimate link directories where you can also submit your post and your blog.

There are so many methods to get links if you read about link building.

  8. I have about 20 articles submitted in few article sites. However google webmaster doesn’t detect any of them so far. Does it take time for them to detect the backlinks?
