Written by Costa on July 2, 2010 - 2 Comments
Categories: Blogging Tips.

Years ago, when Facebook was still in it’s infancy and Twitter was unheard of, there was Stumbleupon. It grew and grew and pretty soon, Stumbleupon was the place to go if you want free and fast traffic. A stumble by a power stumbler can bring in hundreds of hits within an hour and if the stumble goes viral, you will see traffic coming in fast and furious for the rest of the day or the week.

Myths About Guest Posting

Written by Costa on June 14, 2010
Categories: Blogging Tips.

Of late, many blogs have started to offer others to do the ‘dirty work’ of writing posts for their blogs while they sit back and reap the benefits of getting good and high quality contents for free. Do a search for ‘guest posting’ and you will find blogs that has something that says, “Write For Us” in their navigation bar. Foolish bloggers, after reading many “blogging tips on how to increase blog traffic” see this as a golden opportunity for them to make their blogs known. They go on a guest posting spree, spending much of their time writing articles for others.

Design Your Own Free Blog logo

Written by Costa on May 7, 2010 - 3 Comments
Categories: Blogging Tips.

Every blog should have their own unique logo, at least I think so. Those who visits this blog daily would have noticed I have changed logos countless times. That’s because I am a real fussy old man and I can’t decide if the design is good, bad or even suitable. All the previous logos were made by me and not being a trained graphic designer, I have this silly complex that keeps telling me that the logos looks amateurish.

Why You Should NOT Encourage Email Feeds

Written by Costa on March 8, 2010 - 7 Comments
Categories: Blogging Tips.

I still give an option for email feeds subscription because some still prefers that but I am not encouraging it anymore with free downloads and stuffs.

There was time when email feeds were very much encouraged because every subscription you get, the numbers will consistently show up in your stats. In the case of RSS feeds, your figures will fluctuate, sometimes to the tune of hundreds. It is said to be due to your subscribers not logging in that day so their feeds do not register. So the norm was and still is among many blogs, to lure would be subscribers to subscribe with their emails rather than their feed readers. That was the reason back then and there was no other ulterior motives, like plans to spam you with their sale pitches.

Optimize Your Blog Post For Search Engines

Written by Costa on February 16, 2010 - 3 Comments
Categories: Blogging Tips.

The most frequently touted advise by blog gurus is something like ‘write good quality contents and traffic will come” or something to that nature. I have always rubbished this advise for my personal believe is, no matter how good the quality of your blog post is, it does no good if you cannot get people to read it. It is ONLY after you have established a readership base big enough to sustain the survival of your blog that you can do whatever you like. Like writing articles that expresses your expert writing skills with lots of beautiful words that no one searches for in the Net. In the meantime, I feel it would be better that we write the way Search Engines prefers us to.

self-reliant

A nation, if she do not have to import any daily necessities, like food or water, is a rich nation. It means that nation is self reliant and can feed her entire population without being dependent on others. A family who do not have to borrow to put bread on the table can also be considered to be a rich family.
