Chasing Trends
I got a new part time job. Sort of, anyway. This new “job” if I still want to call it that, involves chasing the latest trends and hopefully, by the time I caught the trend, it is still hot and has not simmered down to an extent that no one is interested anymore. If you are not quick enough, your trend chase becomes a wild goose chase and I can tell you, chasing geese, especially wild ones are no fun.
How I became a trend chaser need a little look into my recent history. About a year ago, Victor Franqui, the guy who taught me the truth of making money online, decided to stop blogging and revealing everything he knew about Internet marketing to the public. Reason being, too many people have been stealing what he revealed and passing it on as their own without the slightest courtesy of even linking back to the source. Fed up, he started an Academy called The Affiliate Academy and any one who wants to learn the real truth will have to pay their way in.
Long story short, even with that, many trolls signed up due to the low entrance fee and it did not solve Vic’s irritation. Until one fine day, he decided that enough is enough, shut the doors to The Affiliate Academy, followed by a big flush-out of all the trolls that was present. Whether he was able to cleanse out the Academy altogether remains to be seen, but I was one of the handful allowed to stay. We, the existing members, had and still are learning lots of new things and getting lots of perks from Vic. Whenever there is a new money making idea, we will be the first to lay our hands on it. Whenever there is a new money making script, we get it at a huge discount if not, free. I feel very previledged to be part of Affiliate Academy, knowing that there are people who are willing to pay an arm to get in but failed. We learn things that you will never be able to learn by reading all the A-lister’s blog.
A couple of weeks ago, Vic and his team launched a portal called Innerbuzz. It is to be another money making opportunity for members of the Academy. All of us are invited to become staff writers for this news portal on a 50-50 revenue sharing basis. Vic has ambitions and I have the confidence, that Innerbuzz will surpass The Huffington Post one day. With his knowledge, his resources and his uncanny SEO skills that you can’t find anywhere else, he can make Innerbuzz into a raging giant. When that happens, I want to be part of it. If you know how much a site like Huffington Post or Techcrunch makes a month, you will know why. Thus began my “career” as a trend chaser.
Chasing and writing new trends all the time can boring and it gets a little bit stressful. The quality of the writing goes down the drain, something which I feel will not augur well for a site like InnerBuzz and the direction that it is suppose to be heading. To be clear, I am, of course not bound by contract to write or chase only latest trends. I am free to write when I like on what I like, which makes the new job a lot more fun and that’s what I intend to have during this build up period of me chasing trends.
