Easy And Fast Upgrade to WordPress 2.3.3
WordPress 2.3.3 is a very minor upgrade but according to the developers, is a crucial update as it involves some security issues which I have no in depth ideas about. Since it has been advised that we upgrade to avoid any security breaches, we might as well listen. Prevention is always better that cure.
The upgrade involves only 5 files, the most important being the xmlrpc.php, which WordPress says can be replaced to close up the security breach. However even after replacing that single file, you will always be “notified” your copy of WordPress is outdated, which I feel quite uncomfortable each time I log in to my dashboard. To get rid of that message, either you replace the whole setup with the latest copy of WordPress or easier still you can just overwrite your old files with the 5 new files.
I got this zipped file with all the 5 new files inside from. You can download the files from there or if you are to lazy to surf over, you can download it here.

Thanks, I think upgrades are very important and I meant to do it a couple of days ago but I’m getting ready to do it now. Thank you for the reminder!
