Everybody Lies In The Web

Okay, the title might be a little overboard. Not everyone lies. They only exaggerate the truth a little. It is done mostly to justify the things written, which will not be as convincing if the pure truth is presented. Just as movies need special effects to enthrall audiences, blogs too need extra juices and ingredients to make the articles interesting.

It is harmless, but this is where the problem starts. Blog readers, especially those who are new, starts to believe in those exaggerated lies or pardon me, truths. When someone starts to believe in something, they lose their natural instinct to think rationally for themselves. They take what they have read and believed as the gospel and given the slightest given chance will preach it to those who has contracting views.

Taking advantage of this fact, those who has a shrewd mind of their own, manipulates this human weakness to the brim. Their way with words and their flair for writing propels them to cult status with tens of thousands following their advises blindly, never questioning whether they might be hearing the truth or whether he or she might be propagating ill advise for their own selfish means. It is as though they have found a new God who can do no wrong and make no mistakes.

It becomes a dangerous trend to be in such a cult community. Anyone who dares go against the opinions of their mentor gets flamed like millions of ants crawling and feasting over the carcass of a dead cockroach. A person with the ability to build up such a status can make a lot of things happen for themselves.

They can start a blog and tell their followers they need links to rank for a certain keyword. Thousands of links will come pouring in. They need tweets for certain post and thousands of re-tweets comes a gushing. They can write an e-book “for the benefit” of their followers and thousands will buy that ebook at a “special” price of $47. They can start a membership site or forum for all their loyal followers to socialize in and charge them a token sum of $2 a month. Thousands again will sign up.

The followers feels so blessed to have such a decent guy looking over them. That guy laughs all the way to the bank. But hey, it is not as though they do not know that they are actually making him rich. In their minds, he deserves it fully, for being such a good, hardworking, unselfish and helpful guy. He is their demi God, for the sake if my aching elbow. He deserves the best and the best he shall have. Come what may.

In a little while after being an ardent follower, with minds now totally brainwashed, these followers starts to believe that they are now the best as they have been taught by the best. They get the insinuation that the whole blogosphere revolves around their community and no one else existed or even if they do, they are not as knowledgeable as them. They become advent to new ideas and difference of opinions. They become self centered bastards, never wanting to admit fault, never daring to admit fault, for doing so will be a big dent to their ego. They shut the doors of realization for if they open it up to realize that what they have learned all those years are all but exaggerated lies, I mean truths, then their whole world will come crumbling down.

Yes people, I am exaggerating. So sue me but that’s the exaggerated truth. That’s what bloggers do, remember?

But WE ARE ALL good, hardworking, unselfish and helpful guys – I read that somewhere, so it must be so! I mean, it made me feel so good I bought the book, and it was only 7 bucks……

I kinda give them credit for that! Not everyone can LIE and get away with it!

Not that, they only get away with it, they earn money through it! So they must have something more than any other regular liar that has failed badly!

But usually yeah, as soon I see that specific page that usually says at the end Opt-in, it gets obvious that everything has been written for that sole purpose of getting your money.

This comes back to your other article, “You are on your own”! Once you get that mindset that you are on your own, I think everything falls back in the right place and you can easily distinguish what’s right and what’s not.

Besides, the phrase is “Walk where everyone walks, and you will get where everyone goes! Walk in your own path and you will get where you want it to take you”

About Steve Pavlina, no matter if the guy is a scam or not, he figured how to bring a good amount of income for his family! That’s gotta count for something.

“Walk where everyone walks, and you will get where everyone goes! Walk in your own path and you will get where you want it to take you”

      I like that!

Call me crazy, but since I live alone i don’t have anything to hide from anyone, and I have such things written all over my apartment!

Like little notes taped here and there to remind me where I am going :)

Personally i have nothing against those who are bold and shrewed enough to make money out of those new or naive simpletons. For those willing victims, they have to learned from their mistakes. Whereas for these so called demi-Gods, i do look up to them for their gall or chutzpah. They do know how to sell the sizzle together with the steak. Not everyone of us are capable or would like to go into that endevor. One of my favorites is Palvina. LOL.
