First step: Learning to create a Wordpress Theme
Today is I added another milestone to my blogging craze. I just learned to install Wordpress in my computer locally. This means I can download all those nice templates into my computer first, play with them as much as I wish, tweak them, re-design them or whatever all in the privacy of my own computer.
I have been wanting to do this thing long ago but did not actually go look for information as to how until I stumbled on a post by Small Potato of WPDesigner.com when I was downloading one of the many beautiful Wordpress themes. From there I got the link to Geeks are Sexy technology news, where i learned to install Wordpress locally.
The instructions given by Geeks Are Sexy are simple enough for me as I already have some experience in installing Wordpress. Took me a little more than half and hour to download the Xampp program needed to install Wordpress locally and the configurations as instructed.
Now the next step will be to follow Small Poatao’s tutorial on How to Create a Wordpress Theme. I hope I have he patient to go through it. I am quite fed up with using all those free templates. Even though many are really beautiful and all, I just cannot call it my own and since I don’t have the means to employ a professional to do it for me, I shall do one on my own.
