Free Advertisement Exchange program

I wasn’t happy with my experiment with StumpleUpon where I paid 25USD for a campaign to bring 500 visitors to this blog. The difference is statistic was so wide that till today, I could not figure out how StumbleUpon can reach a result of 500 hits within a few hours after the campaign started when my own stats counter only showed less than 200 unique visitors. I did not top up my funds to continue that campaign after that.

This morning I received a message via MyBlogLog from Nick asking me to check out his Free Advertising Co-op called Adgridwork. As I am a big sucker for everything that has the word “FREE” affixed to it, I decided to check them out. I was quite please with what I saw, though I was sceptical at first with a nagging question, “What is in all this for the founders of Adgridwork?” Is there really a free lunch after all? The question is answered here under their FAQ section.

If adgridwork is free, how do you plan to make a living out of it?

The answer provided,

We do not make any money much less a living off of adgridwork. We handle the site in our free time (though lately with the launch it does feel more like a job :-). We simply had an idea and wanted to see it through - see if it would catch on. We have never had any plans to make a living or any money at all from running adgridwork. We just want to make something that people will use. (Plus if it catches on, it will look really good on a resume ;-)

Now if you think that there is no free lunch in this world, think again. I also run a free link and free feature in my other blog where I insist that those who I give the free links to, don’t need to even thank me. Like Nick and his Adgridwork team, I do it for the heck of it and have some fun.

Signing up is as easy as ABC. In less then 15 minutes, I have the codes inserted and the result can be seen on my sidebar. The network is still new with about 3000 members, so it’s a good start. If my blog can appear in 3000 others, I am sure I won’t complain. To buy a text link would cost at least 30USD a month, this is free. The only thing is your reciprocal link to theirs which I think is pretty fair and square.

I want to wish Nick and his team at Adgridwork every success. Maybe one day, when their network has grown into a few million, they can start selling Text Link Ads to all Advertisers out there. Imagine a ready audience of a few million. Who wouldn’t be tempted to Advertise with you. That will be the day when I will shout hallelujah.
