Oh boy! As far as free Wordpress Theme goes, you won’t find anything as good and as unique as this! Code named, TimeLine Digest, this is another superb theme by Richie K of Dezzain Studio, the same designer who also designed the theme that I was using prior to this.
This very professional theme also comes with a array of extras that you will never find in any other Free themes. Provisions have been made for easy insertion of Ads like the header banner, the popular 125 px buttons and a 300 x 300 square, which I have removed as I don’t have any appropriate ads for it.
After activation of the theme, there is an theme option page where you can configure the fonts for your posts and your headlines. There are also some cool options for us to place a featured post from any category on our sidebar and at he bottom of each page. We are also allowed to choose whether we want to display the whole post of just the excerpts in the front page.
Though it might not be appealing to some, especially ladies, I find the dark purplish color scheme very appealing and very masculine. It stands out perfectly. All the features that I lamented were missing in some other themes, like the “edit” function, the “image align” function have all been thoughtfully included and there was not a single need for me to tinker with the stylesheet.
The “related posts” function is not included but it place is a “random post” function which I think is good enough replacement. A Digg button is included after each single post, but I think I will replace that or add in the feed flare that I have been using all this while. The comments column too is well laid out with comments separated clearly with alternating blue color.
In all, I feel this is such a well thought out theme that people will be willing to spent hundreds to buy. There is an option to remove the footer links and make this theme all yours by paying Richie a mere $20. I would prefer to keep the link and give Richie all the credit that he deserves for coming up with such a nice and unique theme.
