From Blogging To WordPress Themes

When this blog was created, I was still a big bad noob. Like most I wanted to blog about what else, but blogging. It was a topic so widespread and so popular that I thought I could become famous blogging about it. Looking back, was I foolish or what.
But then, foolish as I might been, I realized, after going through my old posts, I did have an opinion about blogging and most of it stucked till this day. There was posts that even attracted A listers like Andy Beard, Daniel Scocco to come commenting. Even Problogger came over to make a comment in one of my earlier post and I believed even now that if I had stucked my guns and have followed up with those incoming comments, this blog would have been a lot more successful that it is now.
Those are days long gone. I got disillusioned by all those nonsense that blog gurus churned out and I eventually stopped blogging totally about that topic. I do not know if this blog will change directions again in future as I am enjoying what I am writing at present. Maybe one day, I will again find a new passion and start blogging on that, but for now, I would like to present you with some of the better posts I wrote from the day I started right till the end of 2008. It was the year Google came out with the big stick and lots of top ranked bloggers got whacked. These were some of my opinions back then.

It has become very difficult and competitve to become a success in the blogging niche now days. There are millions of blogs out there that are blogging about the blogging niche.
However there loads of undiscovered niches out there as well that can make us a lot of money.
Nice post
Gary,
It has not become, It was already saturated back then and it is even more so now.
As for undiscovered niches, there are indeed plentiful, problem is, we are only mortal and cannot be expected to know everything under the sun to be able to blog and become and authority about it.
So the oft given advise given by make money gurus and blogging gurus about finding a niche that no one is blogging about and start a blog on that topic is mere theory. If you know nuts about the topic, then just doing the research about it to maintain a reasonably presentable blog would already have killed all initial enthusiasm. Simply because you are forcing yourself and you are not enjoying the topic by itself.
Of course the argument is we can always outsource or use PLR articles. Buthen, we can never feel that passion as compared to a blog where we write with our full commitment.
I have blogs that make money with articles not my own and it is just that. Making money. I hardly log in to those blogs as I have no feelings for them. I’m happy as long as they make keep making money.
I’s different with this blog. I enjoy it so much here. If it makes me some money, I enjoy it even more. If it doesn’t I might feel a little bit disappointed but then the passion keeps me going.
