WordPress 2.7 is a major update and like all major updates, many things will be changed and along the way, many things will also gets screwed up. From a blogger’s point of view, we don’t much care about what happens at the background of the newer version nor do we have the knowledge to care. All we worry about is whether our blogs will still run as smoothly as before WordPress 2.7 came along.
The most vital part the can screw up our blog’s presence is of course the themes and the plugins that we are using. Any incompatible version will render our blogs insccessible and that can be a real frustrating affair, especially if we are enjoying a popular streak with the themes that we have been using.
To get ready for any unforeseen circumstances, it will be best to update your theme before you update to WordPress 2.7. The best place to go, as common sense will tell you, is to the same place you downloaded your theme or your plugin. All responsible theme designers should have an update patch ready by now, so make sure you apply the update patch.
