To make the 7 Dollar Script work with our WordPress blog, we are only going to edit 3 templates. Since we are keeping things simple and lean, we will not be going through the entire process that this script is designed to do. What we intend to do is, make a sales post in our blog, insert the “BUY” button. Send the buyer to PayPal and after the have paid, send them back to the squeeze page and the download page thereafter.
It will be a direct sale with no upselling through any One Time Offers or anything. This way we can maintain our sincerity towards our readers and not be seen as a money grabber.
The 3 templates that we will be using are the Squeeze template, Download template and to a small extent, the Salesletter. We start off with the Squeeze template. Fire up Komposer, click open. You will be prompted to search for the template you intend to open. Locate your 7 Dollar Script folder, go to the templates folder and you should see the html file named Squeeze. That’s the file you want to open with Kompozer.
Highlight all the text in that template, right-click and choose Copy. Close that file.

Click Open again. Locate the personalized template that you have created with this post. In the second row where it was empty before, right click and Paste.

Inside the text area, change the words, [YOUR PRODUCT NAME] to the name of your product.
See the text message, [PASTE YOUR AUTORESPONDER OPT-IN CODE HERE] ? Scroll down to the bottom of your Kompozer window, click on ‘source’ which will bring up the source codes or the raw html codes. Locate the same words. Highlight the words and paste in your autoresponder opt in form codes.

I understand most of you will not have an autoresponder account so the best alternative is to grab you Feedburner Email Subscription form codes and stick them in there. Which is what I do these days after I terminated my Aweber account. At least there is a chance to gain a new subscriber to your blog. After doing that, scroll down again and click, ‘Normal’ to go back to visual mode. Your template should look like this now.

Next, highlight the link that says, ‘Just Send me To My Download’. Click on the Link icon on the top and it will bring up the Link Properties window. You will see a long string of codes. Remove the front portion or delete everything and type in so that what you have remaining is
index.php?action=download
Make sure ‘URL is relative to page location’ is checked.
Click OK. This piece of codes is very important. Any mistakes and you will be screwed.
Last thing to do now is to replace the words for the link at the footer that says, ‘youremail@yourdomain.com’ with something like Contact Me or something similar. Highlight the words and again click on the Link icon above. Enter your e-mail address or your blog’s contact page so if the buyer has any problems, they can reach you. Click Ok.
That, basically takes care for the squeeze page. Of course it is up to you if you want to add more text to the page. For example, the opening text, “To download your copy of [YOUR PRODUCT NAME], enter your first name and email address in the form below” seems a little bit rude or forceful. You can change it to something nicer and more polite.

If you want to make the page look even more professional, you can also add in an image of the product you are selling. To do that, you must first get the image ready and place it inside the image folder that we have created in the first instance. Decide where you want the image to appear anc click on that empty space to see the cursor blinking. Click on the Image icon above to bring up the Image Properties window. Browse to your image folder and open that image. Click OK and your image will be inserted accordingly. If it is not aligned centered, click on the inserted image to have it selected. Then go up and click on the ‘Align Center’ option at the top bar.
Finally, save your page template as ‘squeeze’. Save it in the same folder that you have created the last time. To refresh your memory or for those who has just dropped in, read How To make A Simple Mini Site Template first.
