The colors of a Wordpress Theme are the most changed part when anyone is customizing a Theme. Just a simple color difference can make your blogs theme look a lot different from others who are using the same Theme. It is the second best way to make your Theme unique. The best way, of course is to change your header image. So how do you identify exactly the color codes for your WordPress Theme?
There are 2 piece of software that can be downloaded for free that you can use the identify the exact color codes that any website is using. The 2 I use regularly are Pixie from Nattyware dot com and Hex Color Finder
Among the two, Hex Color Finder is more powerful and does a very good job. Now as you know, a link in any blogging platform changes colors when the mouse is hovered over it so as to indicate that the word is a link. It is also a color that many would like to change in their Theme. If you use Pixie, the color will change when you hover the color picker over it and this makes it impossible to identify the original link color. The Hex Color Finder does this job real well. When you place the color picker over it, not only will the links not change color, the hex codes that appears inside the Hex Color Finder window stays put so you can copy the color codes.
Another cool function is you can manipulate the color once you have identified the actual color codes. For example, if you want a darker shade from the original color that you have identified, you adjust it right inside the window. Now you can copy the color codes into your stylesheet to get a darker shade. This is especially useful if you have a colored sidebar and would like to have a darker shade background for your Sidebar titles. A very useful tool to identify color codes in any theme.
