How To Make A Twitter Icon For Your Blog

A simple tip for those who have just started to blog. How to make a twitter icon for your blog so that when your readers click on it it will lead them to your twitter page. It will increase your Twitter followers. This tip can also be used to make attractive RSS Icons to increase your subscribers.

The first thing you need is an image icon of twitter (or RSS Icon). just type “twitter icons” in Googles and you will find hundreds of them. Most are free to use but some are copyrighted, so read the instructions before downloading.

Once you have chosen an icon, design it to suit your taste. You can use photoshop or gimp and if you don’t have those, Microsoft Paint can also do the job. make sure your finished designed is not to big as you will probably want to put it in your sidebars.

The easiest way of making the finished image to a clickable link that will point to your twitter page is to go to your Post editor and use the upload image feature. Make sure you show the image URL before inserting the image. The whole string of codes will appear something like this:

<a href="http://blogigs.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/follw-me.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-773" title="follow-me" src="http://blogigs.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/follw-me.jpg" alt="follow-me" width="299" height="138" /></a>

Now all you have to do is to change the link to your image to become a link to your twitter page. So replace the first portion,

with

http://twitter.com/yourtwittername

Or if you are doing it for your RSS feeds, change that to your feed’s  URL

Once done the image will become a clickable link that will lead whoever who clicks on the image to your twitter page. Like below.

    Hi
It seems that I have the answere right in front of my nose but I still don’t get it. If I need to change the size of the image to 125 x 125 how can I link to the image if the original image (URL) is bigger. I understand how to download the image but to link to an image with an URL makes me confused.
If i edit the size what is then the URL?
By the way I’m using the Ad Button plugin for wordpress and it seems to do the work but requires the image link URLs.
