How To Recycle A Blog Post.

Every blogging guru will advise you to re-post your old articles if you are confronted with a blogger’s block and can’t seem to come up with anything good. By re-posting, they do not mean that you take the whole of an old article that you have written and post it once again in it’s original form. You should refresh it it or give it a new twist. Other than articles that you have written, you can also use articles that have been published by others a million times over. After giving it a new makeover, the article can actually look unique.

Let’s take a peep at John Chow’s latest article. I seldom like to link to A-Lister’s articles as most would have already read it anyway, but in some instances, like this one for example, I would like those who haven’t check John Chow today to read his 7 Reasons Why He Forgot Your Website. first. This a classic example of creatively recycling articles that have been published many thousand times over to make it unique and interesting in it’s own way.

First the title – 7 Reasons Why I Forgot Your Website. A good link and traffic baiting title. It arouses the curiosity of people reading the title and thus would want to know the reasons why John Chow forgets their sites. If he had stuck to a old and overly used title like 7 Reasons Why Blogs Succeeds, or 7 Ways To Succeed In Blogging, it won’t sound so fresh and compelling as these kind of post titles are a dime a dozen.

The first reason - A Far Too Complicated Domain Name is the same as what you have read a thousand times, Get A Domain Name That Is Easily Remembered.

Second Reason – A Dull Template Which Everyone Is Using As Well. How many times have you been advised to Get a unique looking blog template?

Third Reason – A bad title. If you have been reading on tips on how to write a good post, you would have read tips on how we should always title our post appropriately to attract people.

Fourth Reason – Absolutely horrible content - Write Good Contents. Content is King. How many freaking times have you read this?

Fifth Reason - Bad navigation – Add A Navigation Bar or make Your Site Easily Navigable. Don’t tell me you haven’t read that somewhere.

Sixth Reason – Not enough updates. The day you started your blog, you have been told to update daily or at least once in two days.

And the Last Reason that John Chow will forget your blog is -Nothing which makes you stand out. – Come on. Write unique contents. Remember? You have been told a thousand times already.

So you see, a little bit of creativity and you have a post that has people commenting “These are all wonderful tips! Great post!” even though it is an item that has been re-cycled a few thousand times. Now you have no reason to complain that you have nothing to write.
