Information Overload

Have you guys ever experienced days when you simply can’t get anything done? I mean, not the “too-busy-so-I can’t-do-my-normal-stuff” kind. In fact, it is the “damn free but can’t get started to do anything” kind. We just sit there staring at the computer, knowing if we just can get kicked at our rears, we can actually start doing a lot of things, but since no one is kicking, we just lazed off the whole day.

The frustrating is, we in fact have lots of ideas and lots can be done, but we simply refuse to do it. We are like kind of rebelling against ourselves and we feel rather good about it because no one has the power to reprimand us. Remember when we were young and we get reprimanded for not doing our homework? Haha. This time around, we are the kings. We can forgo everything and get away scot free, well… a small tinge of self guilt maybe, but then we feel superior. We feel free and we feel we are in the command seat.

You might call it a serious lack of self discipline and if this goes on, we might actually end up accomplishing nothing in the long term. We keep putting everything till tomorrow or next week, but heck, the feeling is good!

I have been like that for the past few days and I try to justify my ill doings by saying and telling myself that I am suffering from an information overload. For the past weeks, I have been surfing too much for my own good. It is one tip after another. First it was about niche blogging and I actually went and started a niche blog. Then it was niche stores and i started a niche store, quite blindly. Then there are tips to make the niche successful. Tips on how to set up the templates, tips on how to bring people to the stores, and now they are saying we should have a whole load of those blogs and stores.

Like an old pentium PC with a stick of 56 mb memory, that hangs when too many applications are running, I am all hung up now. I am the walking blue screen of death and I think I need someone to press that reboot button.
