For all those who have been eagerly waiting for the Google PR update, you should take a look at your Toolbar. (I presumed everyone has a google toolbar right?) New rankings are trickling in.
I first noticed it when I accidentally saw John Chow got a PR 6 when it was only a 4 few days ago. Thinking that there might be a mistake as these mistakes happens, especially if you have just surfed over from a higher ranking blog, I refreshed a few time, and it is still showing a 6.
I already had a feeling something will be happening today because AhPek.com’s rank dropped to zero this morning. Hoping something good might be coming up, I secretly prayed that that blog might at least get one promotion to make it a 5, but at the last check, I only got my PR4 back. What a disappointment. A 5 would have been perfect. There is hope yet. These rankings will only stabilize after a few days.
However! I had a really pleasant surprise when my other blog, Old Things, though less than 3 months old, got a high 5!! Now I really suspect something amiss, not that i am complaining. To make sure there is no mistake, I went to PRChecker for confirmation. True enough, the checker came up with a PR5 for Old Things. Nice! I just hope it don’t revert to anything lower after a few days.
No complains about this 2 week old blog though. It is still hanging on a big fat 0, but I guess it’s logical for such a new blog to Rank 0. All my other blogs didn’t see any changes though, but I’m not very concerned with them.
Good for you. From my experience though, it’s normal for the PR value to shot up for new blogs. It’ll usually drop back to the real value later.
My blog at Sabahan.com got a PR6 a few months after it was launched but it’s now hovering around 5.
