Progress with my personally created theme cannot be called smooth sailing by any means. Trying to remember codes or anything is not my forte. However, with some determination and some patience I think I will create one eventually.

After spending about an hour or so with one chapter of the tutorial and finding myself going nowhere, I decided to take a break and fool around with my new found knowledge trying to mod one of the many themes that I have downloaded. I chose the cutline theme as it was very bare and had lots of room for modification.

First I changed the size and color of the fonts which was easy to do as I had done it with almost all the themes i have used. Then I added the postmeta because I wanted the convenience of being able click “edit” in case I see something amiss after publishing the post.

Another missing thing in the sidebar was the Meta where I can log in to my dashboard from my blog. Since I don’t know the codes I just copied the whole bunch from the Default Kubrick theme and jam it into the sidebar.

This is how the before and after looks. Don’t laugh ok. I’m just learning. My next mission is try to add in another sidebar.
