Just a short post to test out the new video embedding feature included in WoprdPress 2.9. In case you have not been reading up on the latest features, WordPress 2.9 now allows you to embed videos with just the URL of the video rather than having to copy and paste the whole embed code.
Simplifying things this way also means that you can embed the video even when you are using the Visual mode when writing your post. Previously, you will have to do the embedding in HTML mode. Whenever you edit the post in Visual Mode, the whole embedded codes gets messed up.
Though the documentation says that we are able to do the same with WordPress TV videos done with Videopress, I found that it does not work. If you click on the embed link in the top video, you still have to copy the whole embed code if you are using a the self hosted version of WordPress 2.9
Another thing that you should not be using if you want the video appearing in your post is NOT to use the “Add Video” button in your post editor and choosing the ‘Fron URL” option. It will make the URL into a hyperlink with the title as an anchor link. Of course it is good if you just want to provide a link to the video and not have the video embedded.

Atta useful thing to know. I post a lot of videos after a certain round of soccer games
This comes quite in handy, I didn’t pay attention to the simplicity in the new 2.9.0
