No More Free Info About Blogging?

I am a firm believer in the saying, “There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch”. That believe was further strengthened by my subscriptions to various Internet Marketing guru’s newsletters offering to give me FREE tips on how to succeed. What I got was some sweeteners in the beginning and when the time is ripe, the crunch comes. I will need to pay for the real tips and if I had the cash to spare, god knows how many of those programs I would have registered myself for. I really believed they have something of value after the few initial pitches.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered Vic’s blog, then Grizz and one fine day, Court came out to reveal about keyword sniping. All the information I gathered from these blogs was more than I can chew and I finally began to have a faint idea on how these successful bloggers work in the background. This was something that in normal cases, I would have to pay for to get. They could easily sell these information and there will be thousands like me, but with some cash to spare, who will snap up these information. My believe about free lunches begins to falter a bit. Maybe there ARE some free lunches after all. How naive and short sighted of me.

There will NEVER be free lunches in this world, or at least long term free lunches. We might get some free sweeteners, but we will never get the main course for free. What these successful bloggers have is not something that they pick up from the roadside or something that simply dropped from the sky. They have put in hundreds of hours of hard work and may have spent thousands of dollars themselves buying what they know now, so what give us the right to pick their brains for free? It will be unfair. Unless if they are willing to give for free that is, else, we should not complain and say they are selfish and being money faced.

Some have argued, “But they have already made so much from their knowledge, can’t they just teach for free so others can benefit?” Come on, that argument is just a justification of a cheapskate trying to justify their greediness for everything that they want for free. We want something of value, we have to pay for it. That’s how this world evolves, there is no such thing as a free lunch, remember? If we can’t afford to pay for it and get things done more easily, we go the hard way and take all the hard knocks. Those who can afford will make it in one year, those like me, who can’t, we make it in three. Don’t blame anyone for it. Just kick ourselves for not being able to come up with the cash to buy those information.

How much knowledge those bloggers are willing to part is their prerogative. You’re right, no point blaming ppl for not giving out their success formula. :-)

All life’s answers are found in The Godfather. I’m not sure which applies though:

“Good. Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me. But, until that day, accept this justice as a gift on my daughter’s wedding day.”

or

“Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.”
