As promised by the developers, WordPress 2.8 codenamed Baker hit the Net spot on today without any delay. As of writing, the auto upgrade bar in our Admin panel is not visible yet, but rest assured, it will be.
To find out what you can expect from Baker, check out the introductory video available in WordPress TV.
For those using the Thesis Theme, there was a small issue with the widgets panel during test runs with the Beta version. The rectification codes can be found at Rick Beckman’s post Thesis 1.5 on WordPress 2.8RC . Nothing too complicated as it involves replacing only one block of codes. Not sure if the WordPress 2.8 Baker has this same issue until I upgrade my other blog which is running on Thesis or if whether Thesis developers going to issue an official patch.
Like always, I will be waiting for a couple of days before plunging into the upgrade to see if there are any reports of incompatibility.
