Post image for One Column Neoclassical Theme

Some bloggers prefers a Theme which has only one column for their contents and nothing else. They want no distractions for their readers and honestly, from a blog reader’s point of view, I do enjoy reading more from a blog that has no too much fancy stuffs cluttered all round their blogs. Of course then, their contents have to be mesmerizing enough. Why?

If you have lame contents, and you know you have no talent to write any thing better, take advantage of this weakness to make some money for yourself. Insert in lots of ads in your blog because whoever is reading your lame article will be looking at something else. LOL.

Anyway, if you think your articles deserves your reader’s full attention and you want a single column theme, you can mod one for yourself using my 2 Column Neoclassical Theme. It takes less than 5 minutes.

Step One: Download the 2 Column Neoclassical Theme – Upload – Activate.

Step Two: Open your custom css file – Copy and Paste in the codes below.

.custom #content_box { width: 650px; border-bottom: none;}
.custom #left_box { width: 650px; float: left; }
.custom #content { width: 630px; padding: 10px 10px 0px 0px; float: left; }
.custom #content_inner { width: 630px; padding: 0 0px; }
.custom .sidebar { display: none; }
.custom .navigation { border-top: none;}
.custom ul#nav {width: 640px; }

Step Three: Also in your custom css, change the width of your “masthead logo a” to 640px. (Replace your header image with one that is 630px wide )

Step Four: Open ie6 css. make the same changes for the “masthead logo a”

Step Five: Open ie7 css, make the same changes.

DONE.

To revert back to the original 2 Column layout, delete whatever you have inserted and change back whatever you have changed to the original specifications.
