Real Money Makers Don’t Reveal Their Sources

In the course of my frequent blog hops, looking for tips on how to make a little something from blogging, I see a very funny trend. All those who are making small bucks or those who just got their first Adsense checks tends to brag about their money making abilities, blowing their trumpets over their so called money making blogs, while those who are making the real money keeps quiet on how and from where they made them from.

Some goes to the extent of showing a screen shot of their PayPal statements to prove their money making “prowess”. This practise really gives credit to the age old saying, “An Empty Vessel Makes The Most Noise”

No doubt, making money from blogs is not an easy task and bragging about it sometimes is really quite harmless, but one fact that is makes this practise laughable is most tend to make themselves out as “masters” with their meagre earnings and starts teaching others how to make money with their blogs, trying to be another John of the Blogosphere. Even the John does not reveal all his true earnings. He does that in that blog because it has become his brand and not everyone has the ability to carry that same brand.

Some months ago, Shoemoney posted about his Adsense earnings that exceeded $100k with a picture of him holding up the check. This had everyone looking in awe and many so-called “gurus” jumped on board the wagon and started another influx of posts that again started telling people how easy it is to make money from blogging if you follow their “advise”. The question they failed to ask is. “where the hell are the Adsense Ads in Shoemoney dot com”? There isn’t a single Adsense Ads there, be it in the homepage or the single post page. I am not implying that shoemoney is not telling the truth and I do believe that he is earning that much, but did he say from where? Or from which of the many blogs or sites that he has?

Shoemoney dot com is only one good example. There are so many real money makers out there that don’t have Adsense Ads in their blogs but they are those who are making the biggest bucks from Adsense. Doesn’t this arouse your suspicions even a little bit that they are not revealing everything to us? That they really have a secret money making formula that they are not telling? I am just surprised that no one asked or am I the only one who is still in the dark?

Good observation. I would never have thought.

But then I seldom take time to read about the Adsense hype. For one, I’m real lar… I don’t have many readers.

Of course they don’t tell. I even suspect some of them are cheating on us. How hard is it to order yourself some reviews and call that “advertising spending”? If for every two fake reviews you get somebody to buy a real one, you’re even. So I don’t buy what John Chow is claiming to earn from his blog.

this was on my mind for months now….I suspect those earnings are from multiple/different blogs with a singular ad sense id.

Thanks so much for the posts. I’ve learned a lot- especially you mentioned in another post how people just create spam blogs to earn from Adsense. Not many people actually share this type of information and I am glad you share it with us. I’ve definitely bookmarked your site for future reads.
