Removing Image Border In The K9 WordPress Theme

Image With Border

Depending on the kind of images you are posting within your post, image borders sometimes can either make the post stands out or make the whole post look a little bit a awkward. An image like the one you see above will look elegant with a border around it. The border will bring out the whole flavor of the picture and make it look more striking. It will look like a piece of framed up artwork.

However there are images that does not work well if there are borders wrapping round it. Images with a washed out background is one type that must never be wrapped with an image border. The whole purpose of using such an image in our post is to let the image blend perfectly and melt into the text thereby giving what we are writing more significance. If there is a border around the image, it will defeat the whole purpose of using such an image. Take the example of the image on the right, if I had not excluded the borders, it will look as though the picture is a piece on it’s own, with no relevancy to the text.

With this K9 WordPress Theme you can remove the borders of an inserted image which comes in default by adding the “noborder” attribute to the image codes. When you upload your image, the raw codes will look like this.

<a href=”http://blogigs.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/52bruce-fantasy01.jpg”><img class=”aligncenter noborder size-full wp-image-515″ title=”52bruce-fantasy01″ src=”http://blogigs.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/52bruce-fantasy01.jpg” alt=”Image With Border” width=”450″ height=”338″ /></a>

The first portion is the link to where the image will point if someone clicks on the image. Some people like to remove that line. I do that too sometimes. The second portion immediately after the “img scr” of the codes tells WordPress how the image will be displayed. In this case, the image will be aligned to the center of the post, the size of the image and so on. To exclude the default border, add in “noborder” without the quotations, after the words aligncenter or wherever you have assigned the image to align. (in bold). The border will be no more.
