Everyone knows that to attract Googles to place you on top of their search, they has to be good keywords in your posts. When I first started blogging, good keywords to me were words that are outstanding. Bombastic words or maybe some really fancy words. I thought that meant good keywords. It was very much later that I realise that very simple words like “links” or “money” can be a terrific keyword.

The trouble is being simple does not mean it would be easier to think of appropriate keywords. Do you realise that these 3 simple words “on the lot” can be a very search-able word? I just learned it from the recently launched Google Trends. I would have expected names of celebrities to be the most searched words. Turned out it wasn’t to be. No doubt names of big stars does occupy a big slot in the 100 most searched terms in Google Trends, there are also silly words that I never expected anyone would use when doing their Search.

Dancing with the Stars 2007

is the most widely Searched phrase for today followed very closely by

American Idol Winner

. Now who have heard of Dancing With the Stars here. No one. So I doubt anyone blogged about that. American Idol is screened here and most bloggers knows that the words American Idol gets hits. Thus you can see many logs bogging about this show.

That’s easy to guess. A big and successful show will always be searched my millions eager to want more. Thing is every blogger is blogging about that too so if your blog ranks low, chances are you will be buried so deep, no one will notice you rotting in there. A better alternative would be to blog about something that you know will not be blogged by many BUT searched by plenty. That will give you an upper hand. Now where do you find those silly words that plenty of people key into Googles? At Google Trends. Just to give you an idea,

on the lot is number 2 on the list of 100.

this is mine now is number 6

it does not follow latin is number 39

i m going home is number 89

Who the hell would have expected these words would be searched by so many. So don’t be surprised when you write a post ranting about your homecoming and titling your post “I Am Going Home” and getting a few hundred search hits for that post.
