The Affiliate Theme For WordPress

Received an email from Unique Blog Design doing their pre-launch sale of the The Affiliate Theme, a premium WordPress Theme. A 25% discount is being offered for the first 10 buyers and I was told to be “quiet about this offer”. LOL. Good marketing tactic, because all this cloak and dagger had me scrambling over to check out this Affiliate Theme.

After going through all the information about the theme, I came back to find another email, telling me that all the 10 offered slots had been taken. The next offer is 15% discount for the next 25 buyers. Will I be buying the theme? I actually might. Even now when all the offer slots have been snapped up. It’s a theme designed in customization heaven, if you get my gist.

For those who have not heard of Unique Blog Designs, they are the guys who designed the Themes most of the A-listers you read like John Chow, Shoemoney and a host of others. Expect them to be promoting this theme to heaven in the coming days.

Frankly speaking, this theme will be taking the Thesis Theme a run for it’s money. Looking at the features for the Affiliate Theme, the level of customization available surpasses even the Thesis Theme. For one, the theme comes with ready made header designs, which you can expect to be professionally designed, given the reputation of Unique Blog Designs, which can be replaced with one click of the mouse.

The customization option page lets you tweak the theme to your hearts content without having to meddle with the actual stylesheet. You can even pick a unique custom color from the in built color picker which I feel is really really awesome. You can also change the layout to any columns you want, thus each blog will be unique even if you are using the same theme.

The Affiliate Theme is sold in 3 different packages. The Single Use package is only $97 but you are allowed to use it for one site. It cost a tad more than the Thesis Theme, but consider the 6 unique templates that you will be getting. It’s like getting six different themes for the price of one.

The downside is you will not be getting the lifetime upgrade, so if there is a major upgrade for WordPress, there might be some problems. It is something sorely missing and I feel UBD should include the lifetime upgrade for this package as well. It will do one hell of a good for their reputation. I certainly do not want to spend $94 bucks on something that I might not be able to use after a few months as WordPress updates ever so frequently. You can still have access to their knowledge Base and Support Forums though.

The package I strongly recommend would be the Multi Use Package which at $147 is cheaper than the Thesis Theme. As most of us has more than one blog nowadays, this package will let you have all your blogs customized differently. Furthermore you get a bonus of 10 different header images for 10 different niches.

The last package, the Super Affiliate Package is an over kill. Unless you are a super marketer with hundreds of blogs, you won’t need this package. It comes with a whopping 30 header graphics with an additional new headers every month. It will be good if you build lots of different sites monthly. All your sites will be unique. Additionally, whoever buys this package will make 50% off any sales of this theme as an Super Affiliate. Basic affiliates makes only 30%.
