The Difference Between Adsense Theme And Adsense Blog

There are theme designers who creates “Adsense Themes” and there are bloggers who creates Adsense Blogs. These two do not mix and are two entirely different entities. An Adsense blogger do not necessary need to use an Adsense Theme. In fact, most if not all serious Adsense bloggers shy away from using pre-designed Adsense Themes for reasons and theories that they believe in.

A Theme, so called Adsense optimized, do not guarantee you will earn big bucks with your Adsense Ads. It is called thus simply because the designer has made provisions for users to insert their Ad Blocks with greater ease and that’s all to it. Some goes a bit further by incorporating the Adsense Targeting Codes so you get better relates Ads to your post.

Basically, Adsenses Targeting is 2 lines of codes that tells Adsense Bots to look only at that particular post and not have straying eyes. It is a good if you blog is not niche and you post on tons of different subjects. Without Adsense targeting, you will get Ads that are related to other topics in your blog. In practical terms it would be bad should someone comes to your blog via Search Engines looking for information on the topic you blogged about in that particular post, only to see Ads about something else. You will lose precious clicks. With Adsense targeting, all you ads will be related to all your post and you have a higher chance of people clicking on the Ads.

There is, however, a big downside and risk involved. Adsense do not take too kindly to these practices for reasons known only to them. Once they find out you are using those codes, they will not give you any Ads at all except public service ads. When one day you see that in all your pages and post, you know you have been tracked. It will affect all your blogs in your Adsense account including those that you do not have Adsense targetting codes embedded. Fortunately, it returns to normal in 2 or 3 days after you removed those codes. Then of course there are many who uses this tactic and nothing have happened to them. It’s one of the many somethings I cannot understand and will never understand.

Those are Adsense Themes. Adsense Blogs are blogs that are created specifically to make Adsense dollars. These blogs do not pay any particular attention to whether their Themes are Adsense Optimized or not. If you ask them, they will rather prefer a theme that is properly SEOed so they can get more search traffic. A common preference though is most Adsense Bloggers go for simple minimalistic themes that have no graphics are any other attractive elements to distract their visitors from seeing their Ads.

So what if you are caught in between. You want an reasonably attractive blog because you blog mostly for pleasure but on the other hand, would like to see some income derived from those pleasurable moments. Well then, you are in good company of millions of other bloggers out there who feels the same way as you do. Just choose a Theme that suits you and your blog’s charactor. You can always change it like you were changing clothes, so what the hell. The most important thing is you must like what you see first before thinking whether others would like it. At the end of the day, you are going to be the one staring at your blog for hours to come. The longest your loyal readers would stay is around 10 to 15 minutes and they are off.
