One of the best reason to own the Thesis Theme is because the after sales service. You can buy a lot of Premium Themes from lots of different Theme Developers for the same amount of money, but when it comes to upgrades, I doubt there is one that is as efficient as the Thesis. Barely 24 hours after the release of WordPress 2.8, DIY Themes made available Thesis 1.5.1 for all existing owners and all new purchasers.
Thesis 1.5.1 comes with 5 major enhancements although it only needed one to make it fully compatible with the new version of WordPress. The changes made are:
* Post images now appear in RSS feeds! Tons of folks clamored for this one, and each and every one of ‘em was right—this is a must-have feature!
* Fixed tagline font controls: And we’re all gonna pretend that I didn’t screw this one up in version 1.5
* Fixed thumbnail dimension overrides in the in-post editor: Remember when you tried to resize your auto-cropped thumbnail and it didn’t work? Yeah, that sucked. Sorry.
* Fixed JavaScript compatibility issue on the widgets panel: This was only an issue for early adopters of WordPress 2.8, but I feel the need to mention it here anyway.
* New, handy nav menu on both options panels! Quick links to Thesis resources from your WordPress dashboard? Yeah, we’ve got that.
On top of that,
Thesis now containing over 50 hooks allowing for countless and varied customizations
And they have something called filters,
A filter, like a hook, is a point of interaction within Thesis; just like with hooks, functions are created and added to the filter.
I haven’t really come to grasp all those new functions, but from the looks of it, Thesis Theme freaks and modders will be having lots of fun. Incidentally, some sites have cropped up offering free Thesis Skins and Child Themes. Looking at the growing popularity of the Theme, it won’t be long before someone starts selling personalized ones.
For those who are still worried if the Thesis Theme will be compatible with WordPress 2.8 or any newer version coming after this, you can rest your laurels. You get free upgrades for life, remember?

I have an issue with the installation though. I have a developer’s license but am unable to install the theme properly after the 1st time
Even the support forum is baffled by this! But I do agree that the new version rocks. I’m able to see it from my 1st installation and upgrade to WP 2.8.
That’s strange. Installation is pretty standard and straight forward, even if done multiple times as long as you keep to the default.
I noticed that when I installed 1.5.1, under page quick edit there is now only the default page template to choose from? I need my no side bar option back, what am I doing wrong?
I don’t quite get what you meant Keith.
Go to pages, select quick edit for one of them. Thre is a drop down for page tempalte. It used to give the option of no sidebars but now it is gone. Only default template!
Any idea how to get it back?
Okay. I get it.
Now that’s also very strange. Mine seems to be okay, so I really have no idea what’s wrong. Sorry.
Why not try the Forums.
Tim – did you ever find an answer on how to fix this?
Keith,
I don’t know for sure, as I do not face this problem, but it looks like a missing php file.
There should be a “no-sidebar.php” within the main Thesis folder.
I just reinstalled 1.5.1 and the problem was fixed, something must have gone wrong in the upgrade. Thanks for the help, knowing you did not have a problem led me to a reinstall.
