It is important to have a clear mind and have a good understanding of what you are doing or plan to do. A good planner always envision a step ahead. Each action that he takes must co-incide with the next expected re-action in his plan, for Newton once said, “For every action, there will be an equal and opposite re-action”. So if you plan to punch someone, be on guard to get punched back. If the opposite re-action is ill-planned and not well thought out, chances are the plan will fail. Short, simple and brief, it is called ‘plan ahead’
There are many different kinds of blogs and different kind of bloggers who are very successful in their own right. Whatever they have done to be what they are today, they had a plan in mind. They can foresee the reaction so they took the appropriate action. Thus they succeeded.
Many followed suit what those successful ones did, thinking what worked for the successful ones should work for them too. Problem is, while the successful ones planned well ahead, the followers just followed blindly. Thus they start to do many confusing things.
They Start Building A List.
Just because someone successful said, “The Money Is In The List” everyone, everywhere started to say and repeat the same thing. They got confused, because for bloggers, THERE IS NO MONEY IN THE LIST. The oh-so-important list is for Internet marketer who does email marketing. The list is for email spammers who sends you 2 emails per day recommending every new product that they are affiliated with. The list is for bloggers who has products of their own or who plans to launch a product of their own. If you are just a blogger even if you are one trying to imitate a successful MMO blogger, I say again, THERE IS NO MONEY IN THE LIST.
They Start To Use The Fade In Opt-In Form

Just because someone successful said by using the fade in opt-in form available from autoresponder giant, Aweber, they were able to increase their list many folds, they had everyone, everywhere trying to imitate that by using the form too. I tell you, IT IS DOWNRIGHT IRRITATING.
Imagine switching on the TV, lie back comfortably in your favorite couch and just as the the show was just about to start, the whole screen fades out. You have to buckle up, get the remote and press the “play’ button again before you can see the show. Isn’t that a big mood spoiler?
I remembered quite vividly Shoemoney using the same method some time ago and had some complains from his readers. He, of course told them off by saying something to this effect like, “what is so difficult spending one second clicking your mouse to close that window…” Well, it’s not about the one second, it has something to do with the human mind. It sort of gets irritated by it.
Don’t see that now though. See? Even a tough guy have to bite the dust sometimes.
They Too Want To Send NewsLetters
For what, I will never know. Just because someone successful somewhere said that they should? A newsletter is suppose to give out more than what you have in your blog, but as a blogger, you are already fast running out of ideas about what to write for your next post. So many have opened up their blogs for guests posters in the pretext that they want to help give you some exposure but in reality, it is because they have dried up their writing juices. So what do they send you in those newsletters? Your recently posted articles? I mean, for heaven’s sake.
Truth is, newsletters are used as a warm up for bigger things to come. Like if you are going to launch a course or maybe a membership site. You send newsletters with tips related to whatever you plan to launch a few weeks or months prior to that big day. If you can craft out good quality newsletters, you have a good chance of a successful launch.
For bloggers with nothing to launch, FORGET ABOUT NEWSLETTERS. If you have so much ideas to offer, better to post whatever you have in your blog, at least you see some increase in contents and readership.
Confused Or Just To Look Cool
I have to give the benefit of doubt here. Maybe they are not that confused. Maybe they are just doing it to look cool and to show the world that they do the exact same thing that successful bloggers do so they too will be viewed upon as successful. But then, would not that be the doings of someone with a confused mindset? Boy, I am confused.

Costa, yes i know lots of new and not-so-new bloggers are still following what they have learnt from some of these established bloggers. All the stuff you mentioned above. That’s why many of them say they can’t make money online. Some even say Adsense is a wsste of time. What a load of crap. I’ve been collecting monthly payment from Adsense since last year. And the best thing is most of these blogs are not even ORIGINAL content per se. I don’t buy any ebooks, software or join any webinar. There are tons of FREE stuff over the internet; that is if you know how to find.
Plan as you say and think outside the box as well. Then try it out and learn from it. Don’t always complain that all these making-money-online is crap. Anyway, without them around, we can make more money.
Yes, learn and understand the metrics. The rest comes naturally and there is no need for imitation.
Confused is an understatement. I think you’ll find that I don’t emulate other bloggers, successful or otherwise. I also think you’ll find that I don’t emulate other internet marketers, successful or otherwise.
The reason is because I’m a writer, not a blogger or internet marketer. There are some things I take from bloggers and internet marketers and incorporate into my own routines, but it isn’t the same as being one.
It truly is annoying when one successful whatever does something and then a whole horde of people start doing it so much that it makes you sick.
Just learn to understand what we are and what we are capable of, then just be ourselves. I think most miss that. They try very hard trying to be what they are not.
I believe in listen to your crowd. If they want something they will contact you.
Say my feed was sending updates in US time, so in a way was sending the updates after the events.
I neglected that fact cause I have what like 20 subscribers. But a week ago I got 2 letters asking me to change the sending time cause they were getting them later than they wanted to, so I did.
As I said I believe in variation. Your tips might be right on the spot for 1 blog, and quite wrong for another depending on its visitors.
Also times change. New things come up, the old methods become obnoxious.
