Blogging can be very much satisfying and pleasurable if you take the time to learn a little basics of some programs so you don’t have to scream for help each time you are stuck with something that you cannot do yourself. You don’t have to master everything, that will be too taxing to make blogging enjoyable. Here are a few basic necessities that you should learn.
Learn to write simple links.
The only codes that you need to know and the most commonly is how to write a simple text link using the <a href=> tag. No doubt if you are using wordpress, the tool is there in your text editor, but to memorise how to write this piece of code will be very beneficial and in most cases, this is the only code you need to know.
<a href=”The URL You Are Linking”>The Anchor Text</a>
Wordpress has made it easy. Just change to writing your post in “code” rather than “visual”, highlight the text you want to link, then click on the blue word “link” on your top left corner of the text editor. Paste in the URL that that you want the link to be pointed to and click “okay” all the codes will be inserted for you automatically.
How to Link Images.
Check out my previous post about this topic. Image Linking is also very useful when blogging.
Learn basic CSS
Knowing a little bit of CSS will let you tweak your themes, like changing the header, the color and size of the fonts and so on.
Learn basic Photoshop.
Or any other graphics software that lets you design your own header image, your personalised text, or even your button Ads.
Basically, these are the few things that are needed for every day blogging. You don’t need to master them. Just learn what is needed so you don’t have to seek help each time you want some simple things done in your blogs. I might start some simple tutorials on some of the subjects that I have not covered in this blog for the benefits of those who have just started blogging in Wordpress. I believe some useful articles are also buried deep inside this blog when I imported those articles over from my former domain. I will revive and edit those too.

I’m one of those guilty people.
I know, it pays to know a little more about html codes. No doubt about it.
As for banners, if you can’t do it, hire me… *psst, sorry for the blatant advertising*
