Trying Everything To Get Traffic
I created a profile for facebook. Did the same at myspace and at numerous other places that are suppose to be good places to get networked and bring tons of traffic. There are countless articles out there teaching me how to go about doing it, which all seems simple enough but when put to practise is so time consuming that if I spend the time doing what I am suppose to do to get the numbers, I won’t have time to update my blog no more. So like most of all the ideas and methods given to me and which I started, all were left hanging in mid-air.
I lost count of how many of these sites I have registered and sometimes when I stumble in again, I will even surprise myself that I am already a member! I don’ even remember signing up with some of them. Frankly, I have given up on all of them. For a layman who does not have top level SEO skills and who does not have the time to spend countless hours socialising in facebook or myspace, the best bet for me to get traffic is get an article or two stumbledupon weekly. Alternatively, I also can pay for it if I am desperate enough by way of Ad Campaigns. However, for a meta blog like this, I don’t think spending money for traffic will be viable.
The other option is to write really good contents that would get mentioned by people all over, but with my limited knowledge of everything, good and original content don’t come that easily. Maybe that is my hindrance. Knowing a little of everything. If you ask me about SEO, I can tell you a little bit. If you ask about Wordpress, I too can tell some stories and if anyone wants to know some simple things about WordPress Themes modification, I can also offer some simple advise, but if you want me to go full fledged, I am a big noob. Realizing this fact is no big help either. It give me some sort of an inferiority complex.
So I shall never be an “authority” blogger for I don’t have authority over any subject. I admire those with deep knowledge of what they are blogging about and I try to learn. In my humble opinion, we must admit to our weakness. It is only then that we will be willing to learn from others and when it comes to learning, age is not a barrier. I am learning everyday from people half my age and I feel no shame.
