Turning to Niche Blogging

2008 March 3

Niche blogging is taking off in a big way in recent months. While it has always been advocated by blogging gurus that to stand out from the crowd, our blogs needs to be very niche, the advise was interpreted in a rather different tone then and now. When before niche blogging means to blog about something you are very passionate about like gardening or photography, niche blogging these days is all about targeting the keywords of a certain niche so that we can benefit from Search Hits and most of the time, it has nothing to do with our passion for the topic.

Niche blogging these days is all about making money and not about the number of readers you have. It has turned “scientific” if I may use the word. Serious niche bloggers goes to in depth research of certain keywords before deciding on the topic they want to base their blogs on and suffice to say the most important criteria is the earnings they will get from that niche.

Bloggers who has the means, spends considerably buying expensive software to help them track and determine the best paying keywords that will guarantee the highest ROI. After confirming that certain keywords will indeed do well, they spare no effort in registering and setting up a domain with those keywords.

Most if not all are totally ignorant about the subject that they will be blogging about. It used to be a big obstacle, but not anymore. Now there are software available to churn out high quality articles about almost every subject under the sun. Then there are the many free articles directories where articles are free for use without running fowl with the original author.

The wonder about niche blogging is there is minimum maintenance needed once it has been put in place with all the relevant keywords. All that is needed is maybe 30 good quality articles, do all the necessary SEO stuffs to get those keywords indexed and ranked and after that it can be updated once or twice a month to show some movements so Search Robots will keep crawling the site. In the meantime, people searching for information on that specific topic will keep coming and clicking on the Ads.

Due to the flexibility of niche blogging, top money earners keeps adding niche blogs into their inventory. Some has more than 100 niche blogs earning them massive amount of money monthly from Adsense and other affiliate sales.

There is no need to spend time in traffic building the conventional way. There are no worries if your subscribers are zero. Many even disallowed comments. They keep their niche blogs to the minimum bareness allowed and even the dates does not show in their post so readers will not know even if the blog is hardly updated. Despite that, traffic can surpass meta blogs like this because it is easier to target less competitive keywords and there is no need to keep readers really happy as most of them are there for some specified information and not there to enjoy your writing skills.
