I am and still is of the opinion that when I Build a Niche Store, (BANS) I will want my visitors, no matter the amount, as sometimes it could be only 3 to 5 per day, to land themselves on a page where they can find, in the first instance, the things they want to buy. I put myself in the shoes of an online shopper looking for something I had in mind and have already decided to buy. By the time I key in those words, I would have already done all my research on that item and would already have a good idea of what I want. Thus, I do not want to waste anymore time raffling through article after article on information about the products before I can see the actual products on sale. Thus the reason I avoided using all those WordPress Templates that have been modified for use in BANS.
These WordPress BANS Templates emphazises on lots of written contents to attract Search Traffic, which by all means is good if I had a site trying to make money from Adsense or related affiliate products where people are still on the research trail, having not made up their minds what they wanted. No doubt using these themes give user the advantage of using all the available WordPress plugins and it is fantastic for SEO purposes, and using these themes might bring in many extra visitors but I doubt it will convert as good as the default layouts. Most of these visitors will only be looking for information.
As for BANS, I will like to cater for those who are ready to buy. As such I was real happy with the few available default layouts that came together with the BANS software. All I had to do was to change the colors and headers for each of my site so I don’t get too bored with looking at the same thing everyday. However I believe the looks will in no way affect sales. I can have 50 sites having the same color scheme and the only person that will be bored to death will be me and me alone. These 50 sites have 50 different types of visitors, so I doubt the same guy will be looking at the same color each time they visit another site.
I have seen many BANS sites using WordPress Templates and have turned their stores virtually into blogs. If I was a shopper looking to buy something, I will definitely get the idea I have stumbled into a wrong site, which is a blog rather than an Online Store. There are no products to be seen in the Home Page and all I see are articles. The instinct reaction will be to click out in search of the stores I’m looking for.
However, having said that, I am still a big fan of WordPress and was hoping someone can convert a WordPress Template to be use in BANS with the simplicity of BANS intact and not make it look as though it is a blog and not a shopping site. The wish came true today, thanks to Justin, who is an expert on Internet Marketing in Nashville. He is also very good in Search Engine Optimization and I uses his tips to optimize my default BANS sites.
Justin released his latest template for BANS using the Dateless Sniper Theme originally modded by Courts for keyword sniping. We all know that this theme has been optimized for Search Engines so I was real thrilled and grateful to Justin for taking the trouble to convert this theme and giving it out for free at that. Many other sells them, so if you use Justin’s theme, don’t be an arsehole to remove his link at the footer.
I tried it out on my new site, Boats For Sale today and as expected, everything went smoothly and it does looks good and simple. It also looks like a regular BANS site with all items layout cleanly in every page. Not much modifications to be done except maybe give it a new header. Loving it so far, but still haven’t had the time to add in some words for every page.

I knew there was a good reason to subscribe to your feed email!
I haven’t done any BANS sites yet because I just started building niche blogs. I can see where it might be a good idea to use this theme for it — I already use a slightly modified version of Dateless Sniper for 4 niche blogs. Less than a month old, they’re already drawing traffic.
Hi RT,
I think you should start BANS right away. LOL. It’s a much faster and easier to see money trickling in. For some of my sites, I actually see sales after 5 days of going online, even though I get only 5 to 8 hits each day.
Thanks so much for the positive words about my template =) It’s really simple, but I usually mod it specifically for each site.
I’ve had some sites do really well with Court’s theme, so I wanted to lock it in with some of my BANS and make it look almost seamless. No reason to not share it.
Thanks so much for the links =)
Hi Justin,
Don’t mention. It was my pleasure to introduce such good stuffs here! And you are really generous to give out for free. Keep them coming!
Interesting information. I just found out about BANS yesterday, so I will have to bookmark your article here so that I can reference it when I sit down and take a good look at BANS.
Hi dcr,
Yes, do that. You won’t regret it. LOL.
