When I first started dabbling in WordPress Theme Customizations, I was zilch, having completely no prior training in any programming language whatsoever. I learned through sheer arrogance, not believing in the fact when we wanted to learn something, we should learn the basics first. Instead, I wanted the shortest possible method for me to start customizing my Theme. With my below average intelligence level, to learn and memorise all those mumbo jumbo, I would probably have gone mad before I even learn to change the font size of my blog.

In the course of searching for the fast track way, I bought, read, and downloaded tons of ebooks and tutorials which promises me that I could be an expert in a few hours. Most are garbage, out to fleeced noobs like myself. Some are good and I really got my money’s worth. One package that did not dissapoint was a series of videos called “Becoming A WordPress Expert”

The whole package consist of more than 20 videos ranging from beginners level to Advanced use of WordPress. I am going to share with you the Advanced half of the package. It is a couple of years old, but everything still applies. This Video teaches those who are new to customizing WordPress Themes on the easy method to change their images in any a WordPress Theme.

Thanks so much for putting something up that actually has all the steps to make this simple. I’ve been combing the web for a few hours (15 minute sessions here and there) trying to find concise instructions). I hope you will post more of these videos.

It took me a long time to learn the basics too because I went deep into php coding before I ran across wordpress. I’ve spent a few years backing up into the reality of what you describe in this post. By the way the left sidebar is elegant here. I have trouble making my site balanced with a bar on the left. I guess it’s just a brain tilt and I like rightside info. Just my preference but yours is really great. Thanks for the tutorial easy to follow.
