What Is A Niche Blog

Niche blogging has been said and emphasized much by top bloggers when asked about how and what should one be blogging about if they want a successful blog. When asked again what that means, the answer is, blog about something you are passionate about. So if you are into gardening, blog about gardening. If you are into fishing, blog about fishing, if you are a beer drinker, blog about beer and if you are like me, into modifying WordPress Themes, blog about modifying WordPress Themes. That, in a nutshell, is niche blogging or having a niche blog.

There are then, of course, popular niches, rare niches, high paying niches and low paying niches. Now if you are into blogging solely for your own personal pleasure, you obviously don’t have to bother about the popularity, the money or even the niche. You can talk about your love date last night or what you had for breakfast that morning without a care in the world and be happy about it. There are bloggers who has turned into celebrities blogging about their personal lives. This is considered the dream way to becoming a successful blogger and many new bloggers starts out taking this route.

Things however changes and as in all things evil, money is the root of it. When a blogger, after blogging for sometime, finds that his counterpart is making money from their blogs, their mentality towards blogging takes a 360 degree roundabout turn. They too would like to earn something from their blogs and that is when they start to look around for the magic bullet. That is when the term “niche blogs” starts appearing at every corner.

Problems starts when they were told that to succeed, or at least to be able to be a niche blogger, they must have knowledge and passion for that niche topic. It is only then, that they will be able to write good quality contents that provides useful insights and opinions. Why is that a problem?

Do you know that there are millions and millions out there who actually DO NOT have any particular passion for anything? Well, except to make more money maybe? They belong the most general species of humankind. Those who wakes up in the morning, goes to work, comes back in the evening, sit in front of that idiot box, surf and watch some porn and then goes to bed to finish off whatever frustrations that have been build up that day. Do these people have a chance to be blogging about anything in particular? I doubt they should be blogging at all, but they have heard that money can be made from blogging. So they too want to start a blog. A niche blog. For they were told that is where the money is.

Gurus will tell them that everything can be a niche topic. From the shoes to the underpants they are wearing. There will be people searching for something concerning everything. Lots might be interested to know what kind of shoes do not make their feet sweat. Millions may be searching for a solution to have underpants that do not stink even after wearing for a week. The sky is the limit when it comes to any very specified topic if your imagination is fertile enough. The bigger problem now is whether they have the knowledge to come up with a solution to a pair of week old underpants that do not stink. If they do, then they are on their way to great wealth.

However to the millions who has never taken interest in anything before they heard that they could make some money blogging, it poses a great challenge. Blogging gurus being the gurus that they are, says there is a simple solution. Go copy. You do not have the knowledge, but others do. All they have to do is to go to some article directories, look up for articles related to their new found “passion” and use those information as their own.

There will be no passion in their passion, but what the hell, money can overcome lots and different kinds of passion. Only their spouse will worry if that passion is genuine or faked, but sometimes, even faked ones can look so genuine. It’s just a matter of your convincing power.
