You might have often heard of it or if you don’t care a hoot about Internet Marketing, you might never have come across this word at all. Squeeze Page. To the unknowing, a Squeeze page is a web page that squeezes you, literally, so that you, whether willingly or unwillingly because you get a great offer in exchange, for your email address and sometimes that of your friends. In very crude terms, it is simply a web page to harvest emails.
How often have you seen great offers to download free ebooks from those many popular sites. The moment you click on the download link, you will be brought to a page where you have to fill in your first name and your email before you can get the actual download link. That is what people call a Squeeze page. Your email address have just been squeezed out of you. In short whatever web page that wants your email in exchange for some freebies can be called a squeeze page.
To those who has never dabbled in Internet marketing, you might be wondering why the hell do they want your email for. To you, an email address is nothing. You can have tons of email addresses and they can be created in a fly for free. So what is so valuable about it. To the Internet Marketer, emails means money. The more email they can harvest the more money they are going to make. The bigger their email list, the higher will be their conversion rate.

As in all forms of making money online, it is a numbers game. The more exposure you get, the higher are your chances of making something. Taking the 5% conversion rate as a benchmark, if you have 1000 page impressions, you are likely to get about 50 clicks for your Adsense Ads. Likewise, if you send out 1000 emails, promoting an affiliate product, you have an even chance of getting 50 sales. Maybe the conversion is lower for affiliate products because it involves spending money, but even at 3% you will still get 30 sales. If one sale nets you $20 in commission, 30 sales will bring in a gross of $600. Imagine those who has thousands and thousands of emails in their list. Imagine those who sells their own product and keep all the profit for themselves. Their email list is their virtual gold mine and they never stop building up the list. They never stop squeezing for emails.
The single most important factor in building up your email list will this be the way you build your squeeze page. You will need something that is real attractive to convince people to part with their email in exchange. It can be some form of a teaser, revealing to people part of what you are offering and arousing their curiosity enough to want more. It can also be a free gift of some kind. Whatever it is, it has to be convincing and not all of us has this convincing power built within us. This again leads to something for shrewd Internet Marketers.

Since there is a demand for creating quality Squeeze pages and there are many who do not have the skills to build one on their own, someone is bound to take advantage of the situation to come up with something that does it for you automatically. One that I have seen and used is the FlexSqueeze Theme. It has superb graphics, very versatile, flexible and user friendly. It can be used as a normal WordPress Theme and at the same time, can be converted into a very attractive squeeze page with some simple customizations.
Another new kid on the block is the Squeeze Theme by Unique Blog Designs, the guys responsible for the very successful Affiliate Theme. It will be launched or has already launched, depending from where you are reading this from, on Tuesday, November 24th.
In all honesty, I have not seen the Theme, as it has yet to be launched at this time of writing, but as a pre-launch offer, Unique Blog Designs is offering a free ebook on how top online marketers use squeeze pages as a tool to increase their customers and prospects. Titled, Squeeze Pages 101, this ebook shows you the importance of having an email list and how to go about getting them.
Like always, this is a squeeze page in it’s own, and you will need to give them your email in exchange. However, rest assured you will not be spammed. I have been on their list for many a months and have never received any spammy emails insofar. Even if it is a pre-launch gimmick, it’s worth a read if you have no idea what squeeze pages are all about.
