Wise Men Stumbles, Fools Skips.

I am learning to be a wise man, therefore, I try to stumble at every chance I get. Sometimes I may fall flat, but with each stumble, I get a little wiser.

I am still groping in the dark, haven’t really discovered the finer points of being a good stumbler, but from the little that I know, getting stumbled is really orgasmic. Not too long ago, when I discovered Lyndoman’s blog, I remember him saying that he always stumbles blogs that links to him or his blog. Back then, I did not realise the depth and meaning of this action. To me, it was just a reciprocal act, and his way of saying thank you for the link was to reward you with a stumble that would bring you hundreds of hits within a few hours.

As time went by, I began to make a more concerted effort to learn more about stumbling and what it can do for my pitiful blog here. I began reading up on lots of articles on stumbling and how to make the most out of it. I even went to the extent of trying out some Black Hat tactics, which I discarded very quickly when I realised it won’t do any good for the long term reputation of this blog.

It is from these reading ups that I finally understood why Lyndoman makes it a point to stumble those who links to him or his blog. Like a light bulb being lighted up over my head, things began to make perfect sense as to why some stumbles brings in a massive amount of traffic while some brings in less.

Given this understanding, I have begun in earnest, over the last few days, trying to build up my account to be a power stumbler. I too, took to the practise of stumbling blogs that links to this blog. No doubt the traffic you get from stumbles might be just passing traffic, but like a fisherman casting his trawling net across the ocean, there is always a good chance that some big fishes will get caught in the net. That is the reward of your labor. It is something worth sweating out for. So be wise, learn to stumble, you will get stumbled in return. Don’t be a fool to skip a good stumbling opportunity.

I must say that StumbleUpon is definitely a great source of traffic, at least in my experience. A couple of my articles were recently Stumbled by two or three other bloggers and the traffic is still coming in almost a week later. Used correctly, there is no doubt that you can generate an immense amount of traffic, especially if you Stumble other people’s articles, because most, if not all, will come back and Stumble one or two of yours in return. :)

    Oh, and… Stumbled. ;)
