The WordPress Theme War has been raging for quite a while, but I took my own sweet time in reporting it. Initiated by Unique Blog Designs, the guys behind the successful Affiliate Theme, this war pits the designing skills of WordPress Theme Designers who, if chosen as a winner stands to be handsomely rewarded.
A new Theme war will be started each week and the genre of the WordPress Themes will be decided by people like you and me. As of writing, the contest is on for the Best Magazine Theme. The next contest will see designers either battling to come up with the best Business Theme, Product Theme or Internet Marketing Theme. The genre that gets the most votes will be the basis of the next contest. At present, Business Theme seems to the favorite among voters. You too can place your votes if you want to see a particular kind of WordPress Theme.
The winning Theme will then be listed in the Theme Store where you can buy the Theme for your own use.
There are 4 options available for purchasers.
Multi Use License $69

At present, there are 6 very high quality premium Themes listed at the Theme Store.. Rest asured, new Themes will be added as the war heats up.
This a rather innovative way of selling WordPress Themes. Getting highly skilled Theme designers together to showcase their talent in one single place provides a good avenue for progress and healthy competition. It also saves lovers of WordPress Themes the trouble of having to search too far for high quality Themes.
