Write Good Titles for your Blog Posts.

Heard some rumors that there will be another Page Rank update this week. I am not very anxious about Page Ranks these days unlike when I started blogging some years ago. Page Ranks matters little to personal blogs. Unless you are using the blog for Paid Reviews, Page Rank, Technorati Rank or Alexa Rank, does not impact you any. It does wonders for your blogging ego though. If you have a highly ranked blog, other bloggers looks at you with envy.

Lots of bloggers does lots of things to shortcut their way to a higher rank and lots of unscrupulous marketeers goes round promising you a guaranteed Page Rank if you buy their secret formula which I don’t think there are any different from what you can gather for free on the Net. Some bloggers likes to trumpet that they have good Anchor Text for their blogs and they comes up number one in Google search every-time someone searches for the words that they have used. The funny thing is, they never reveal the amount of hits they get.

I too have a kickass Anchor text for my other blog. If you type the words, “Free Links Giveaway” in your Google Search bar, you will see AhPek.com in first and second position among a total of 6.5 million pages that contains those words. Don’t be awed by this position because the hits I get for these words is NIL.

It is not that easy to come up with words that millions of people use when they search for information. Unless it is about some very special events or celebrities, words can be so varied that what you thought is a good keyword will be buried so deep that they will never see the light of the day.

Having said that, this is where having a good Page Rank comes to play. If your page rank is on the high side, your blog will be on the first page out of the millions of page, but like I said, it will not bring in lots of traffic if it is just that one phrase. The idea is have every post title phrased for Search Engines. Then the choices will be so varied for Search Engines and that can bring tremendous amount of organic traffic.

Say for example you have 500 posts in your blog will all the post titles nicely bundled together for Search Engines to find you and say you get a miserable 2 search hit for each of the title, that would mean a 1000 hits from search engines daily. Not too bad a figure right? But this is in theory. It is easier said than done but if you cannot manage, 500 search-able titles, 50 of them will also add 100 hits to your blogs daily. So there is nothing much to loose by trying. Copyblogger has good tips on how to come up with titles for your blogs.
